We are gathering a leadership group from the Peninsula and Middle Peninsula to generate wholistic initiatives and collaboratives addressing the root causes of crime and violence in our communities. Earlier this year Christopher Newport University (CNU) launched the Center for Crime, Equity and Justice Research and Policy, which will be the research arm for this initiative.

We will bring together federal, state, local agencies, and faith leaders, to strategize. The Center at CNU will generate research that this initiative will use to pinpoint potential hotspots based on historical and current data. This will allow pastors and churches, resource partners, and sustainable programs, to be dispatched to address the needs that this initiative identifies. Churches will become the Safe Neighborhood Place to provide services and to encourage development of wholistic interactions for the flourishing of the communities.

The invited federal, city, and faith groups will be allowed to send three (maximum) individuals to participate in this first facilitated session. Lunch will be provided.
