Common Good magazine wins Best in Class in EPA contest

Common Good magazine takes first place in its category for the Best in Class Contest through the Evangelical Press Association, a professional organization of Christian print and digital publications, October 2020.

With five issues now in circulation, Common Good has been recognized and awarded in several competitions, including Best in Class through EPA, Best of Show for the American Ad Association, and Nonprofit Connect’s Philly Award contest.

The magazine is a curation of articles, interviews, commentaries, and stories about faith, work, and economic integration in churches, businesses, and communities around the country. Featuring contributors like N.T. Wright, John Perkins, Andy Crouch, Katherine Leary Alsdorf, Andrew Peterson, and more, the magazine has grown in readership, content, and exposure in 2020.

Made to Flourish director, Matt Rusten, believes Common Good is a good representation of the organization’s values and pursuit of pastoral, communal, and church flourishing.

For the Best in Class contest, Common Good competed against other magazines within similar circulation ranges for print publications. Judges used six categories to evaluate each magazine, including cover design, quality and use of imagery, overall design, quality, strength of titling, and overall editorial punch.

The publication came in first place in its category against Light Magazine, Christian History, Fusion, and Family North Carolina, all of which have a circulation audience of 8,000-10,000.
