Monthly Luncheon: Common Good (Kansas City)
- This event has passed.
July 20 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm CDTFree
Please join us on July 20th for lunch and an interactive discussion to examine how we engage within our churches and communities.
What exactly is the Common Good? What does it practically mean to seek the Common Good? Do you have practical ways to help your parishioners:
- understand what the Common Good is?
- actively seek to participate in doing the common good in practical ways?
Take some time to read these short articles on the MTF website and bring your questions and experiences to share with other pastors.
Click here to read the article “What do we mean by the Common Good?” and watch the six minute video ‘Work is Community.’ [If you have time read this short article also ‘How Do We Serve the Common Good?’]
In addition to the common grace of a really good burger, please bring your gracious questions and thoughts about How we can help our churches engage in our communities with the Common Good. We want to think through the merits of Common Good, but we also want to be incarnate. We are reminded that a city on a hill is not capable of being hidden. It is then our responsibility to be thoughtful and active in what type of city we exhibit.
If you will not be able to attend the discussion with us, your work matters! We still need to hear from you! Please email DeLano Sheffield and share practical implications you have or have experienced about HOW we can serve the Common Good.
In case this is your first lunch with us, we gather and discuss timely issues. Made to Flourish will cover your meal but you are also free to contribute, and feel free to bring a friend who is serving in the pastoral vocation who is not yet connected to MTF.
