Leading After the Election (Chicago)
October 21 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm CDT
Presenters: Pastor John Yeats, Pastor Crawford Loritts, Mike WoodruffFree
How are you preparing your church for the election? What are you going to say the Sunday after people cast their ballot? Maybe you address biblical views of government as a sermon topic or simply model civility in a pastoral prayer?
Some pastors will make a short comment before continuing with the planned series while others will schedule days of prayer and fasting leading up to the election.
One thing seems certain – we have contentious days ahead and pastors need to think well and lead wisely.
Join us for an online discussion to consider ways to lead your church after the election. Pastors John Yeats, Crawford Loritts, and Mike Woodruff will help church leaders consider biblical and practical ways to lead in the coming days.
Register below, and we will provide the Zoom link.
Dr. Yates retired last year after forty years as Rector at The Falls Church in Falls Church, VA. A historic church founded in the 1700s and noted for – among other things – George Washington’s membership. Under his leadership this church grew to 3,500 members and was known for training young pastors, planting daughter churches and biblical preaching. Both John and his wife have authored a number of books and are active in Family Life, based in Arkansas.
Dr. Loritts is a nationally known speaker, author and the senior pastor of Fellowship Bible Church in Roswell, GA. He spent many years on staff with Campus Crusade, where he serves as a board member and Vice Chair. He has written numerous books, his radio program is heard by 500,000 people and he is an adjunct faculty member at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
Pastor Mike Woodruff has served as the Senior Pastor at Christ Church since 2002. Prior to this he was a college pastor (’85-92) and a management consultant (92-99). He also founded The Ivy Jungle Network and served as the President of Scholar Leaders International. Mike has published more than 200 articles and several books. He has degrees from DePauw University and Trinity International University, and an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Sterling College.
