Event Navigation

Through his research and engagement, his collection of stories gathered from dozens of churches, and his work as a pastor in Tacoma, Eric Jacobsen helps provide a framework for what it means to be an embedded church. How will churches become (or remain) faithfully present in the neighborhoods we gather for worship? In what ways can our present challenges create unique opportunities to develop a deeper sense of belonging within our communities? These are the conversations and questions that bring us together for a day of connection, encouragement, and a greater love for our city on a hill.
Topics include: Built Environment, Urban Renewal, Faith & Work, Economics, City Planning and development, The Bible, Christ & Culture.

Eric Bio: Eric O. Jacobsen is the Lead Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Tacoma, WA. He is the author of Sidewalks in the Kingdom, The Space Between: , and the upcoming book Three Pieces of Glass. In these books and numerous articles he explores how the physical shape of our neighborhoods impacts our experience of community and what this means for the church. He is also the co-host of The Embedded Church Podcast.
